Why can’t eBay sellers tell the truth???

Yes, I’m an eBay seller myself, though I try to make sure I tell the truth in my listings. If I don’t know if something works, I’ll admit it.

Last night I replaced the feedline running from my inverted doublet into the shack (replaced the cheap-ass 300 ohm TV twinlead with larger conductor 300 ohn twinlead).

Ain’t she a beaut??

In the last year or so I’ve picked up a couple of additional MFJ Differential T antenna tuners. They are wonderful tuners and are quick to tune anywhere on the HF and 6 meter bands.

Anyway, my existing tuners are the “old” black face MFJ units. The latest one I purchased was the “modern” look, with newer knobs, etc. A much newer look, but the same tuner.

Finally hooked the tuner up and was trying to check the SWR — no meter deflection on transmit! I have an outboard MFJ SWR/PWR meter that I use to make sure the tuner reads correctly. The outboard meter worked great — the internal metering was NFG — No Frackin’ Good.

UGH!!!

And this tuner was “supposedly” 100 percent functional. Who doya think you’re fooling? Yeah, right! Sure!

The tuner works fine, of course. The meters are just dead, Jim. I’m tempted to replace it with the one I was running — at least the metering worked!

For now I’ll use what I have. It looks newer. I’m just pissed that there was ZERO mention the metering was dead.

Does the new version of the tuner need a battery for the metering to work? The old one did not. I’ll doublecheck but don’t think it does.

Bitch. Bitch. Bitch.
